Skylight cleaning that lets the light back in.
Skylights are the single hardest window to reach on the house, which is why they usually get forgotten until the light coming through them has gone from white to grey. We bring the right ladder, the right safety gear, and the right solutions to clean tempered glass, dome acrylic, and frosted skylights without scratching them. Dust, cobwebs, leaf litter, and algae — gone.
What's included in this service?
- Interior skylight pane cleaned from extendable pole or ladder
- Exterior skylight cleaned from roof with safety harness where pitched
- Dome and tempered flat glass — both cleaned with correct solution
- Bird droppings and lichen removed with safe degreaser
- Leaf and debris clearance from surrounding roof well
- Flashing and seal inspection (we flag if we see water-damage signs)
- Algae and mildew removal with non-abrasive enzymatic treatment
- Interior light shaft wiped down if accessible

What do homeowners ask about Skylights?
How do you reach skylights on a steep roof?
Anchored safety harness and a roof-access plan. We evaluate every roof before we walk it — pitch, tile condition, age of the shingles. If the roof is too steep or fragile to walk safely, we tell you and find another path (an extendable water-fed pole from the ground can sometimes reach).
Won't you break a tile or damage the roof?
We distribute weight carefully with foam pads on walkable areas and stay on the roof only as long as the job needs. Concrete tile, clay tile, asphalt shingle, and foam roofs all have different walking rules. If we think walking the roof isn't safe for it or us, we don't do it.
What about dome acrylic skylights — can those scratch?
Yes, very easily. We never use abrasive pads or paper towels on acrylic. We use pure water, very mild soap, and soft microfiber, then finish with a polishing cloth. Dome acrylic that's already hazed from UV or old scratches won't come back to clear — but it will be as clean as the material allows.
Do you clean the interior side of the skylight too?
If the skylight is within reach of an extension pole or a step ladder, yes. Vaulted skylights in two-story spaces sometimes need a specialty extension pole, which we have. Skylights that sit at the top of a tall open shaft sometimes need scaffolding, which we'll quote separately.
How often should skylights be cleaned?
Roughly annually for most homes. More often under tree cover or in high-dust areas. If you see bird activity or a hollow area around the skylight where debris collects, clean sooner — leaves left in the roof well accelerate seal failure.

Homeowners who hired us for this
Quarterly plan since last summer. Same tech every visit, knows our house, texts before he comes. Windows always perfect, and honestly the screens and tracks are the real difference — other companies skip those.
We had years of sprinkler spots on the south side of the house. Two other companies said they could not remove them. Shine Pro brought specific chemistry, polished them out in an afternoon, and showed me which sprinkler head was the culprit. Glass looks new.
Our production app was showing below last year. Had them clean the panels plus our windows in the same visit. Production bounced back within a week. Bundled price was better than getting the two services separately.
